“The Wolf von Langa 11620 Organic is the single-driver field-coil loudspeaker its creator has always wanted to build. The driver is a new design, implemented in a tall, narrow (but deep) cabinet with a complex internal architecture. Because there’s no crossover, the Organic’s 96dB sensitivity specification understates how easy the speaker is to drive. Listening to several different musical genres, there was very little sense of an electromagnetic process being responsible for the audible sound—there was that much ease to the presentation. Hugh Masakela’s flugelhorn was clearly a flugelhorn rather than a trumpet and the instrument had exceptional presence. I could have happily gone on listening to these speakers for another couple of hours but…well, it was 3:30 PM on Sunday and the decision to press on was made for me.”
